Adult PR for Porn Stars and Adult Entertainers
Instead of being afraid of NSFW (Not-Safe-For-Web) Content, we seek out and create content as a multi-award winning industry leading Adult Public Relations Agency!
In most 9-5 offices, the subject of porn is rarely touched upon; unless it’s from that one colleague that always makes inappropriate comments around the office. It’s commonly labelled as a taboo topic that should be tucked away for ‘personal time’.
However, imagine emailing your clients about their top tips for the best anal sex or openly discussing sex toys and strippers over the board table. In the world of porn PR, this is a reality when you represent adult entertainment clients.
Welcome to Sweet Release Agency where we take flights to attend sex conventions, network with swingers and sex toy manufacturers and porn producers around the world; as well as produce Adult Industry events including the only Adult Entertainment Award Show in Australia.
Since 2017 we have represented and consulted some of the Adult Industries finest porn stars and there is very little we have not seen, heard or tried ourselves in the office!
A typical day will begin the same way any PR will start their working day, by checking our emails and browsing the headlines. We’d usually be looking for any scandals or news in the adult industry to see if there is anything our clients can comment on. This in itself can be very interesting, ringing your client to ask them their stance on the health benefits of squirting; at 9am on a Monday morning; or sharing scandals amongst your clients on a hump-day for feedback and comments to help shape the way your agency does business (that's what we are doing every week!).
... I would definitely say the most interesting and shocking elements of being part of the Adult Industry as a Sex Worker, Adult Film Content Producer and the CEO of Sweet Release comes from the campaigns we run and the results we produce for our clients around the world - as well as the sex industry events, we attend. - Jett Black (CEO and Global Director of Marketing and Publicity)
Our team have flown to New York to dance on a float in the gay pride parade; dressed up in drag and performed and interviewed celebrities including Ron Jeremy at top sex on premise venues and events; handed out condoms with topless porn stars covered in glitter at Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival in Sydney Australia and attended numerous sex conventions around Europe.
The first one that we attended was, let’s just say… eye opening.
Professional, Expertly Curated and Managed Public Relations Management for Porn Stars
It’s very easy to get swept up in the chaos and madness of sex industry events. At Sweet Release, we know that we are there with a job to do and have to remain focused. Usually there is an adult PR campaign that we’re trying to promote for the client that can have very serious messages.
Over the years we have worked on projects about Sexual health, Sex Education and LGBT Equality, that have dealt with some big issues within the Adult Industry.
Amongst all of the light-heartedness and fun of the adult industry; it’s also important to keep in mind the more serious side of it. It’s always great to feel like you’re helping your clients make a difference by making people aware of the dangers. Not only that, but we enjoy making it safer for those who work within the industry.
There have even been a few incidences where we have seen some of the darker sides of the adult industry first hand; that's because our experience extends beyond our offices as we are industry-peers we know who's who and who not to trust in this challenging and dynamic industry.
For example, quite often we hear of stories where our Independent Escort clients and Adult Film Performers have been approached by studio producers who expect sexual services without any compensation or participation in film projects without payment or contracts. It’s shocking and eye opening that this is still happening.
This is why as an Adult PR Agency our role often doubles with protecting the client’s brand and image. But also protecting the adult entertainers and models themselves who choose to partner with us to help them with their adult entertainment careers around the world.
Overall, it is the adult entertainers that make our job so interesting and rewarding as Adult Industry Public Relations experts. I think everyone has a preconceived idea about what kind of person wants to be a cam star or adult film performer, but we know that every entertainer and model is different from working in the industry to being completely new. Every talent has their own reasons for entering the film industry and most of. them just really love sex and enjoy being on display! - Lynette Irene (Talent Director at Sweet Release)
Of course, there are moments when you have a sudden realisation about how strange your job is but it is mainly driven by the "mainstream" world and how they unfavourably look upon the Adult Industry purely out of ignorance and fear for their own brands and reputation. Here at Sweet Release we do not think ill of the Adult Industry because we are industry peers.
We were at an Adult Industry Awards Ceremony in Australia where Lucy Power cried the whole way through her acceptance speech because she had won the prize for Best Adult Content of the year and a Dominatrix won Best Fetish Services Provider of the year.
Not something that you see in your usual 9-5!

PR for Porn Stars = Safe Sex.
Being a porn star isn’t always easy; often, these actors find themselves faced with an abundance of criticism and judgement, simply because they’ve chosen to enjoy a less conventional career. As a result, these performers are left feeling unheard and under-appreciated… there’s much more to an adult actor than the stereotype might suggest and many have experienced a journey that needs to be shared.
PR gives porn stars a voice, something they otherwise have to fight tirelessly for.
There are a number of ways by which publicists can help adult actors to communicate with the public, growing their brand both within and outside of the industry. If you’re a porn star, it’s important to recognise how you can use your platform for the better. So, here’s some advice from our Adult PR team.
Article Comments.
At Sweet Release our. connections with editors, publicists and media producers is always increasing and as a result we have invaluable connections with journalists, meaning we are kept in-the-know.
When a journalist is putting together a feature, we’re their first port-of-call if they want an expert comment! Yes, this includes more explicit features… whether they want to know the best sex positions to reach orgasm or your go-to blow job lipstick; they want to hear from porn stars.
Our publicists can put you forward for suitable opportunities, meaning your name could quite quickly be seen in the press.
Radio Interviews.
Whether you’re debating important topics or having a light-hearted, entertaining chat about your career, radio interviews are an exciting platform for any porn star. Publicists can arrange for you to share interesting stories, weigh in on appropriate subjects and more!
Television Appearances.
Chat shows regularly host controversial debates and human-interest stories. With the right contacts, publicists can schedule your appearance on prime-time television shows! This is arguably the most powerful way of sharing your views with the public, helping viewers put a ‘face to the name’. This humanises porn and its actors, something vital to the industry’s progress.
Brand Collaborations.
PR doesn’t only allow you to discuss topics you’re passionate about, it also enables you to earn more money and build a business. If you’re a successful porn star, it’s likely you have a loyal following of dedicated fans. You can easily monetise your social media platforms by collaborating with brands, using a publicist to schedule sponsored posts and product placements.
